 The 2009 Ford Mustang will have a new Glass Roof option for customers to purchase for an added cost of $1,995.00. The Glass Roof option is Ford’s answer to what customers have been wanting for years, more natural light inside the cabin. Ford is adding the Glass Roof option to V6 and Mustang GT models for 2009 to give customers a thrid option along with a coupe and convertible when purchasing a Mustang.

 ROUSH Performance, America’s leading powertrain engineering group, has added an additional 30 horsepower to their legendary ROUSHcharger system for the Ford Mustang GT; this increases the output of this supercharger system to a total of 445 horsepower under the hood.
The additional horsepower comes from changing to a slightly smaller pulley and an enhanced PCM calibration to take advantage of the higher spin rate. Customers with a previously installed ROUSHchargerTM can upgrade to this High Boost Pressure Pulley by ordering part number 402863 which has a suggested retail price of $389.00.

 ROUSH Performance continues to pay tribute to Ford’s legendary history with the 428R Mustang, a limited edition pony car which follows in the tremendous success of their 427R model introduced last year and which remains in the ROUSH product lineup for the 2008 model year.

 Shelby Automobiles will use newly-developed Ford Racing GT500 performance packs to help transform a limited number of 2007 and 2008 Ford Shelby GT500’s into fire breathing “Super Snake” coupes. The Super Snake post-title package will include enhancements to the Ford Shelby GT500’s handling, styling and power; tuning options will range from a warranted 600 HP V8 to over 725 HP (unwarranted). Only a limited number of Super Snakes will be built per model year at the Shelby Automobiles facility in Las Vegas beginning in late 2007.

 A new limited edition Red Stripe appearance package will be available for the 2007 Shelby GT500 begining in May. The special package includes unique exterior striping and badges, Red and Black leather seating, special interior trim with logos and as an added bonus all buyers of this package will recieve a Shelby GT500 car cover. This package will only be available on Performance White and Black color cars. The Red stripe appearance package will cost an additional $1,650 and will be available to order through June.

 At the New York Auto Show this year Ford will be unveiling the 2008 Ford Shelby GT500 KR "King of The Road" limited edition Mustang. The Shelby GT500 KR Mustang will feature a 540 horsepower 5.4L supercharged V8 with Ford Racing Power Pack upgrade, 3.73:1 rear axle ratio, short throw shifter and a beefed up suspension. The exterior of this beast will get a unique Carbon composite hood, 18-inch wheels and special 40th Anniversary badging along with GT500 KR striping.

 When I saw the Roush Stage 3 BlackJack prototype go across the auction block at Barrett-Jackson in January I said to myself when are they going to build this evil looking monster. Well are prayers have been answered so to speak with ROUSH annoucning a limited run of a 100 Stage 3 BlackJack Mustangs, which have already been pre-sold through ROUSH-authorized Ford dealers. The protoype BlackJack fetched $82,500 with all the fees at BJ and in my opinion was a steal for the winning bidder who got the first of a limited run Mustang from Roush.

 The Ford Interceptor is the latest concept from Ford that is being unveiled at the North American International Auto Show. The Ford Interceptor is what Ford hopes will wow the crowds and have people talking days after the show is over. The Interceptor is based on a stretched Mustang platform that will come equipped with a Ford Racing 5.0-liter V8 Cammer engine mated to a manual six-speed transmission delivering somewhere in the range of 400 horsepower.

 The Shelby GT is the third modern Shelby Mustang produced through a collaboration of Ford and Shelby Automobiles. In addition to the 2007 Shelby GT500, Ford and Shelby created 500 copies of the Ford Shelby GT-H, which are available only through select Hertz rental centers.
“We have been overwhelmed at the number of people who want to buy a version of the Shelby GT-H,” said Carroll Shelby, CEO of Shelby Automobiles, Inc. “The Shelby GT will deliver the power and balanced handling of the Shelby GT-H, but with more performance potential, especially due to the available manual transmission.”
