The 2010 Shelby GT500 has been spied and the guys over at Stangnet.com have all the photos for you to view. The photos include exterior and interior shots of the 2010 Shelby GT500 test mule which show several key new elements although most of the car is either painted or wrapped up with camouflage.
Looking at the exterior photos of the front end of the car you can begin to get a feel for the redesigned slimmer lines the 2010 Mustang will sport. As for the front fascia of this 2010 Shelby GT500 test mule you can see some very distinct upper and lower mesh grilles with two amber lights tucked in the corners of the upper one. You can also see the completely redesigned front headlights with the chrome accents. The wheels appear to be a never before seen rim so maybe those will make it to production. At the rear of the car it’s hard to tell much but you can see the rear bumper has been redesigned around the exhaust. More about the interior below.

The 2009 Mustang will be special for several reasons but it won’t set any sales records as Mustang Marketing Manager Fritz Wilke has said Ford will likely only produce 45,000 Mustangs in an abbreviated model run. The main reason for the low production figure is the refreshed 2010 Mustang hitting dealers in early spring of 2009. Another reason for the odd 45K production run is the Mustang’s 45th-anniversary happens in 2009, so it would fitting to only produce that amount. To commemorate the 45 years of Mustang glory a special 45th-anniversary badge will be added to select Mustangs.

More News about the 2010 Mustang via Design Chief of FoMoCo Peter Horbury who in an interview with Automotive News said the redesigned Mustang will look smaller by design but retain the same dimensions as previous years. With this type of design Ford is hoping the leaner look of the Mustang compared to the Challenger which is 10.1 inches longer and 1.8 inches wider along with over 500lbs more wieght will entice buyers to think smaller is better.

With all the magazine articles, blog posts and friends of friends who think they know something about whats in store for the 2010 Mustang I thought why not make a list of all the rumors that are flying around. I think for the most part if you are web savy and read forums/blogs you know at this point the 2010 Mustang is being refreshed with some new body panels and interior work. Below I will list the rumors floating around that I have come across. 1. Let’s start with the rumor of a 400 horsepower 5.0L motor moving into the engine bay for 2010. In my opinion it’s unlikely we will see that big of a horsepower jump in a 5-year span. If you look back at the history of horsepower in Mustangs gone by you will see that HP ratings do not jump like most are predicting for the 2010 Model.

I made it out to the Grand Opening of Quantum Performance, 1 of the 3 Shelby Mod shops in the nation to check out the car show, take photos and wander around the shops where they work on the vehicles. The location of the Shelby mod shop is in Farmers Branch, Texas and has some what of an erie feel as it’s about a 1/4 mile from the now bankrupt Unique Performance.

During World War II, the P-51 Mustang was hailed as a savior of aviation and certainly played a major part in ending the conflict. This long range fighter escorted Allied bombers over Europe and Hermann Goering, the head of Germany's Luftwaffe, summarized the plane’s role by stating, "The day I saw P-51 Mustangs flying over Berlin, I knew the jig was up."
Today, at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the jig is up for the rest of the Ford Mustang tuners as ROUSH Performance unveiled the P-51A Mustang automobile which, at 510 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque, is sure to be held in as high a regard as the airplane has been in the history books and will help to save the streets from the invasion of the foreign brands.
