Carroll Shelby and Ford are collaborating again for a third vehicle due out later this year as a 2007 model. The new model will be called the Shelby GT. The 2007 Shelby GT will be similar to that of the Shelby GT-H performance wise and will be priced below the Shelby GT500 probably in the low to mid $30K range. Ford gave this announcement to dealers at meetings in Las Vegas this week and has said the car will come in either white or black with silver stripes. It will also use the same 4.6-liter 325 horsepower engine in the GT-H model that is currently for rent at select Hertz dealers around the country.

Ford has said the formal announcement will come via a webcast on it’s FordBoldMoves.com website sometime this week. Production is said to be somewhere in the range of 10,000 units but exact numbers are anybodys guess. Other options on the 2007 Shelby GT include silver side stripes, unique hood scoop, hood pins and Shelby badging.
