Aren't they building a new track around here somewhere? I thought some guys were talking about once and I can't remember. Thanks

I'm hearing news on two fronts. One is that there is talk of a quarter mile track to be developed around the North to Northwest side of town. The second is a possible development of a NASCAR style track in Brazoria County off of Highway 288. I'm more incliuned to believe the latter. It was reported on FOX news and seems to have some merit to it.

Though I do not know any of those details, I would also assume that if there was a choice, they would go for the NASCAR track. Unfortunately for the drag racing guys, the roundy-round stuff does bring in a LOT more money.

But, it would be nice if they had the space and budget to do both tracks, like the setup at Gateway International Raceway in East St. Louis: http://www.gatewayraceway.com/ (http://www.gatewayraceway.com/)

Seally.

Some guy is building an 1/8 mile track on the south side going towards lake jackson.

Yeah, they're going to build a speedway on that same side of town as well.

it supposed to be a big assed complex... road racing, circle track, drag... saw a story on WB about it. wanted to cater to ALL forms of racing

Houston Super Speedway or something like that

I heard on the News that we might be getting a NASCAR track out towards NASA...I haven't heard anything about a 1/4 track.
