View Full Version : How to cap the line on my fuel rail?

I need to temporarily cap the steel fuel line running from my fuel rail to my fuel solanoid because the fuel solanoid is stuck open. It's allowing fuel to go straight through the line, into my intake tube, down into my air filter, and drip out onto the ground. What the hell do I use to cap the line coming off my fuel rail?
Also, what damage could that have caused? My air filter is soaked with gas and there was a pretty big puddle built up at the air box end of the intake tube.
EDIT: here's a pic of what I need to cap...

I'm sure you can ourchase for a very small price a cap fitting for that line. You're talking about the red AN fitting there, correct? You'd jsut need to know what size AN fitting that is, and hit up any store that sells aeroquip or any other brand AN fittings. Summit could probably help you out too.
If you REALLY need, I tihnk a buddy of mine is an authorized Aeroquip retailer, but I don't know how fast he is. HE doesn't own a shop.. he jsut does a lot fo work on his own, and his friends cars...

Do you still have your schrader valve? That is what normally keeps it closed. Just screw that schrader valve back in temporarily.

Yeah, I figured I'd need a new filter. At first I thought since it was a K&N, I'd just use the cleaning kit and give it a real good cleaning. Then I noticed the rubber gasket thing on each side of the end of the filter was all jacked up because of the gas. I was able to get everything patched up, and my "service engine soon" light went off today, so I believe I'm in the clear for now. I just need to take my car to the guy who installed my N2O and figure out exactly how to fix the fuel solanoid. For now, I'm all motor .
