gonna be im guessing nice bright sunlight, i'll be shooting with the 28-135 mostly im assuming, whats the best thing to shoot with iso speed wise and stuff? i'll be trying to mostly grab pics of the animals standing still, it'd be nice to have the 70-200L but im not rich right now :) ...suggestions? should i take along my circular polarizer so i can keep my lens wide open and still get correct exposure?

polarizers always good but i think its easier to fix it in ps later than mess with the polarizer. You should always shoot the lowest iso possible still allowing you to have the shutter speed/f stop combo that you want(smoother looking photos with less noise). If your zoomed all the way to 135 and the background is crappy i would prolly get my focus on the animal and shoot the widest f-stop you got and set your shutter speed corespondingly as to blur out the crap in the background.

Probably the key thing will be to get as close as possible.. Its best to have a long zoom lens while shooting at the Zoo, the 135 may not cut it.

BTW, Polarizers really have nothing to do with exposure.. A polarizer is made to reduce reflections and also makes the sky a little bluer... A side effect of the poarizer is that you will loose aprox 1 stop of light.

well, i couldnt find anywhere that rented a 70-200 but i will be buying one soon enough, i really wish i would have had it..i ended up not even taking my 50 along with me, all i took was my 28-135 and circ polarizer, i filled up my 1gb md, my 340mb md, and most of my 512md, took 487 pics, and i got some really good ones, alot of them the circ polarizer wouldnt even help the glare tho, so alot of my shots went to waste with the reflections, and some of the places were indoor and stuff so i got some camera shake from the dim lighting, im still batch converting right now, but from what it looks like i got around 150 really good ones out of those 487..once i get done batch converting them and stuff in photoshop i'll upload some..overall i'm happy, but i will be buying the 70-200 2.8 in the next month or so..and prolly another 1gb md
