Whats up guys. I am new to the thread. Just got myself a 2003 manual GT and am loving it every day. This is the first time i've owned a manual and am just getting adjusted to it as I drove an automatic 2000 V6. What a world of difference. And I get better gas mileage in this too. Its crazy. Anyway........I want to get a supercharger for it and have narrowed it down to a Kenne Bell or a procharger. I really dont want to go seqarching through the threads trying to find the answer so I was hoping someone on here could help me out. I plan on using the car as an everyday driver so I want to know what supercharger would be best for me. A buddy of mine told me Kenne Bell would be best for daily driveability but I wanted to get your opinions. What is better for the type of drving I want to do and why. Any help would be great and please humor me....Its my bday today. Thanx!!!!!!

yadda yadda yadda
both can be vary streetable and both also can be made not to be... easy as that..
Now you have to ask yourself not us what you want with the car.
Now a kb setup is a tad differnt then roots, but acts the same and can dish out alot more...
Had you asked me this a year ago id say procharger hands down, I love em, one hell of a blower.
But after driving a roots car "dad has a c5 with a roots" and driving it around on the street, that sob will yank you abck harder then you can imagen INSTANTLY.. I mean at 2k rpms im at full boots and already at my peak tq
and after that it looks like a near flat line across the range.
sure you can sit there and stall up a procharger and be in boost as well..
street for on a day to day car. KB.
on a car you want to turn some serious power out of and going to the track alot. Procharger..
on a side note tho, your stock motor isnt going to handle the max out put of eathier blower, so also have that in mind when you decide what path to go..
cuz if your not ever going to push your limits and stay on the streets, go KB
if you dont care, have a few bucks to drop if the motor pops and want to start cranking out some numbers, procharger.

it really depends on your long term goals w/your car. and also what kind of driving u do most of.
i had a roots (eaton/kenne bell) blower on my car for awhile and i liked having the low end power, i was fun when i drove it on the street. w/a centrifugal (procharger) the car will just keep making power the farther you run it. on a basically stock car neither blower will be used to its full potential, mainly because the stock bottom will give before the blowers will.
also i will say from my personal experience that procharger's fitment of parts are horrible. also the quality of some is their parts isn't what you'd expect for the price u pay.
if i could do it all over again i would have just bought an ls1

Your car seems to break more than race cars. I dunno what to tell you, but obviously something ain't right. Figure out what that is, and I think you'd be a lot happier.

whats such a disgrass about it?
10 sec street car > 10 sec track car.
but then again a 950hp tt vette that passes emession's and drives everyday on the street and gets 23mpg while sitting at a red light quiter then a stock z06, isnt impressive.
anywho, still man, id say roots all the way for a fun as **** street driven car..
go ride in a few 03 cobra's, you see the instant tq that im talking about.
Im not sure on the stock max output for your motor is, but i would assume that the smaller KB would be kicking some modded 03-04's asses.

This is a Ford forum, when one of the members I like the most says something sacrildge like that, it's disappointing.
Quit preaching about the LS* cars. This is Ford power...

find one thread i started in which i was preaching about a ls1...
ill defend anything i feel thats in need of being defended.
notice its your own fordpower member's that start talking about ls1's, not me...
if this is strictly ford's, why do fordowner's and other members bring other car's into this forum.

i was only looking at it at a money standpoint. the camaro i had was a turd and i got rid of it; because i needed more money for the stang. i love my mustang and it would take alot for me to get rid of it. i'm just saying if i wanted to build a fast cheap street car it would be an ls1; or a fox coupe w an xxxci w/a shot of dope.
i also don't have a dislike against types of cars unless it's rice.

Thanx for doing your best to help me out here guys. I still am not sure what to do. From what I can tell my best bet would to be to go with the Kenne Bell. Just so you guys know......I will never see a track with this car. I just have no time. If maybe you guys could answer another question for me. Will I have to build my engine up? If so...what would I need to get and where can I get it from online. Thanx everyone.

no will not, BUT if you have the money. why not..
You wont be able to run near the amount of boost you can with a built motor..
If you decide to go with a built motor, go forged and get dish'ed pistons so your compression will stay LOW this in turn will allow you to boost more on pump gas

If you're not going to be taking it to the track then a KB blower might just be overkill. Instead how about a Saleen or Roush blower? They are both eatons (I think?) and will more than get the job done. I would bet they are cheaper than KB as well.

I kinda ment to mention that, but forgot.. the KB will defently give you more room to work with and have more overall power.
but i doubt you can use the fullness of a stock 03/04 cobra blower/saleen/roush blower with out blowing up your stock bottomend.

Not necessarily as long as you keep power at moderate levels. But who is happy with moderate?
If you do build it up, you will basically need everything. Pistons, rods, crank, might as well go for more cubic inches while you're in there, oh yeah and might as well port and polish the heads, fuel, exhaust, supporting hardware, trans, rear-end...I could go on forever. If you plan on big power you can't just think of the motor. You've got to be able to get it all to the ground without breaking stuff. In 2 years I broke 3 T5's in my old 89. It got very frustrating.
So unless you want big power, you might stay with low boost. I agree that a roots or twin screw would be very nice on a daily driver. Quick boost makes for some fun on ramps. Now I just need to get my Powerstroke to spool up faster.
